My Dream Living Room in my Dream House – 5 designs within a design. Designed and illustrated for my Society6 store using Adobe Draw and Adobe Illustrator – http://www.society6.com/designbycheyney

All the patterns featured in the illustration are designed by me for products which are also available on Society6.

Muted, clean, minimal and timeless.

It was for myself primarily, drawing on my iPad with my Apple Pencil allows me to work out my dream interior spaces and bring my visions to life. I’m a dreamer in my spare time. I work full time as a freelance graphic designer, I have an interest in interior design and decorating although it’s a hobby for me at this stage – A fun creative outlet to keep my creative brain active and dreaming.

I then used the platform Society6 to create some patterns for the home decor pieces I would like in my own space. This platform allows me to turn parts of this dream into reality and also makes these products readily available for anyone to purchase online.

I love these colours at the moment, they’re soothing to look at. I don’t work so much from trends, more what intuitively works for me and makes me feel good. For me, a house needs to be comfortable and serene. I work from home so I like to create beautiful spaces that are inspiring and help ignite creativity.

I am also a big fan of patterns. I like to clash patterns and work with them in a way that flaunts personality but keeps harmony.

I have done it mainly for myself, so I haven’t had a lot of feedback. I have been approached a couple of times since posting it on my Pinterest page and Behance profiles, so that’s a good response, more than I ever would have expected.
